The faces behind The Good Soap
We've been lucky enough over the years to get to know many of our customers / followers, either online or in person but for those of you who don't know us here we are! Dawn, Michelle, Gemma and Ruby Dog.
I am Dawn and I run the show, although the dog thinks she does. I set the business up in 2018, firstly as a hobby making my own soaps, and then the whole thing snowballed. I have a background in holistic therapies and skincare so I utilised my knowledge to put together our ranges. As the business got busier I needed helpers and who better to ask to join me than my best friend and my sister.
We have all worked together in previous years, and having been friends since we were 5 years old, Michelle and I started working together as teenagers in a local chinese restaurant, we then worked together in my hair salon, she is a fantastic hair stylist and also has qualifications in skincare, she eventually took over the salon from me. Michelle used to stand in and help when I ran a children's party company too. We are very different characters but we have a great lifelong friendship, and a fantastic working replationship, where we compliment each other perfectly and we have fun, in fact the hardest part of working together is always wanting to talk together!
Gemma is my younger sister and I am the oldest by 12 years. Despite our age difference we have always been extremely close and great pals. At the beginning of the 2000's we ran a children's party company together, going into homes to hold Makeover and Craft parties for kids. Gemma and I share an entrepreneurial spirit, and alongside working for The Good Soap she has her own dog walking and pet sitting company. She's loyal, kind and organised.
Ruby Dog completes soap and product inspections, writes product recipes, checks stock rotation, designs and runs the website, does the marketing, orders ingredients, runs the finances, runs the social media and emails.........oh hang on, no that's me! Ruby just follows me everywhere pretending that she's working........
