Review of The Good Soap year so far.......

I started this blog a few months ago to update followers as regularly as possible on what we get up to

Sadly I've failed at this as I've not really had time to write a daily article, I guess this is a good sign though, it means we are being kept busy with making products and selling products - always the best place to be. We feel extremely honoured and fortunate to be taking our business into the 7th year of trading in 2025. We are ending the year in a good position, and for this we feel fabulous, as it's been a hard year for many reasons, including grieving the loss of 2 of my most favourite people alongside running the business.

2024 has been the year of being out performed on search engines, by AI writing content that searchers would normally find on our website. It's been a year of endless Spammers and attempted Scammers. 2024 has been the year of not raising our prices whilst product ingredients reaching sky high levels - have you seen the price of olive oil and cocoa butter?? It was also the year where we lost most of our hard earned reviews due to a technical issue with the provider app and had to start again collecting reviews. Sometimes it's felt like an uphill battle to know where to go next.

However, it's also been the year of continued customer loyalty, honestly we have such a high rate of regular loyal customers who return time after time to stock up on products, many of whom we know by name and whom treat me as a friend. It's been a year of still enjoying bringing the products to you, of some amazing feedback from customers, of collecting lots of nice new customers. It's been a year of learning for me Dawn, learning how to try to make better reels (still not my strong point) and with the help of my talented sister in law learning how to make the soap company look more like a soap company online! We redesigned the website, rewrote our email marketing plan and kept trying to get better in a world where it's hard to get seen without a massive advertising budget, which we just don't have.

So far this year Ruby the boss has had at least 636 walks, minimum of 2 walks a day, has eaten at least 1,500 gravy bones and has inspected 1000's of bars of soaps. 

Michelle has made 1000's of bars of soap and products, Gemma has sent out 1000's of products and this means that into the world we have sent 1000's of plastic free and cruelty free products, this means far less plastic in the world, which was always our mission and why we started making soap back in 2018.
