It's been a busy week here at The Good Soap
As some of you know Michelle, our chief product maker, is not working this week as she's in the process of moving house, and so I'm in charge of making the products. I've had a busy few days making soap bars, including our dog soap bars. I've been making tinned balms, solid moisturiser bars and cleansers too. I made, then deleted a video with Gemma (which would of course been an Oscar winner had it made it to viewing), I've walked Ruby twice a day as always, she's such a slave driver of a boss, and I've treated her to many biscuits. I've also wrapped customer parcels in between those Gem has been doing, tried to keep up with my daily reel challenge that Instagram is bossing me to do, oh and I attended the theatre. This morning I took a trip over to Conwy Art & Soap Bar to top up our section. I like to take advantage of a morning trip to Conwy by taking mum with me, aka Jan our Queen of Crochet, by having tea and toast out. Mum is off on a cruise soon so she treated herself to some lovely clothes from Missy & Mabel, what a beautiful shop that is on Lancaster Square.
Deganwy, where The Good Soap is based, is a lovely little village between Conwy and Llandudno with a low population, but I think we have the highest proportion on entreprenuers in the land, as on nearly every corner there are kids selling their wares, this summer so far I've bought 3 bracelets, some 'lemonade'. I dread to think what was in it, I threw it away when they couldn't see me, but I did congratulate them on using paper cups at their stall. I've also been sold 2 oranges by the kids next door!! Yesterday some kids knocked on my front door to sell me a bracelet, they must know they are onto a good thing with me - however, I think after I bought one they were glad to get away from me as I lectured them on safety (stranger danger) and then went into a speach about how I thought it was wonderful that they were setting up a business and being productive, I think they were bored of me by the end - they won't be back!!
I'm lucky that I've lived in Deganwy all of my life and live 2 streets away from where I grew up. When I walk the dog I often walk past the bowling green, where me and my brothers and friends would dare each other to run across when we were kids, to see if we could get across before the elderly caretaker, who lived opposite, saw us and came out to yell at us. Poor old guy, we probably ruined his life! I've been wondering at what age one joins a bowling club, it looks great fun, and they have a cake and tea chalet, what more do you need! I'm not sure I'd be good at the actual game but I'd be great sitting at the tea chalet gossiping and eating cake. I'm not often too young for things any more but I'm taking solace in the hope that I'm too young to join the bowling club.......or am I!? Or is joining a bowling club just to eat cake a tad too far......?
